Let's Catch Up...

This is a pretty informal post to share a few updates so you know what’s happening in this little corner of the world/internet.
The YouTube Channel
We’re quickly on the road to 10K subscribers, and I cannot believe it! Never in my wildest dreams would I have thought something like that would be possible when starting the channel from 0 back in 2017. And to think, only about 9,000 of those accounts belong to me! (just kidding, I genuinely appreciate each and every person who takes an interest in what I create)
I’m trying to think of something fun/special to do to celebrate the 10K milestone, so stay tuned for that! Additionally, I’m really interested in learning more about YOU. We’ve built a nifty little community, and I’m excited to find new ways of making videos that are interesting/fun/helpful for you. From conversations I’ve had, it seems a lot of people who watch are interested in learning to make better videos themselves, but I’d love your feedback, so reach out to me on social @sodarntom or just send an email to tom@enthusiasmproject.com.
The Podcast
Season 2 kicked off a few weeks ago. I never planned to have “seasons” when starting the podcast at the beginning of 2019, but it's something that seems to have happened organically. Originally the podcast was a chance to explore ideas in a longer form without the pressure of YouTube analytics. I wanted a chance to explore my thoughts candidly and openly. It was an amazing experience, but after 21 episodes, I felt like I had mostly gotten that out of my system, and I was excited to try something a little different. Maybe with a bit more structure and purpose.
Season 2 feels very much the same in terms of tone, but focuses specifically on my journey of starting a business. What does that mean and how am I going to do it? No idea! But it’s one of those goals that’s been on the shelf in the back of my mind for a while now, and I think it’s important to explore it. Plus, I think there are quite a few people out there in a similar position, so you can follow my experience and learn from my mistakes!
The Personal
As much as I’d love to spend more and more time making videos and connecting with all of you, my day job is keeping me pretty busy. It’s a chaotic time of year, and my digital media program has really taken off. For now I’m sticking to making one video per week, but I’m hoping to add a few more here and there when time allows.
Most importantly, Heather and I got engaged in October, so we’ve both just been enjoying that ride. We did a “mutual engagement,” which is a bit unusual, but 10/10 would recommend. Basically, we picked a date and then we each took a bit of time on that day to do something special for the other. Of course Heather made an awesome video about it.
Thanks for taking the time to check in with me! Writing this update reminds me of the goofy fun I had back in high school when I would write site updates for the band we were always trying to start. It’s fun, and I’d like to do it more! Thanks for reading!
